Overview
Coalossal VMAX is a tough Pokemon with 330 HP. It is good against Dark Pokemon since it is a Fighting Type while Grass Type Pokemon might OHKO it since it has Grass Weakness. It has very high retreat cost of 4 Energy so you will definitely need Items such as "Switch" or "Escape Rope" etc to retreat it efficiently.
Its first attack, Eruption Shot is the main feature of this Pokemon. This attack has 40 Base Damage and does extra 90 damage if top card of your deck is an Energy Card. In addition,, the top Energy will also be attached to Coalossal VMAX. On the other hand, if the top card is not an Energy Card, you have to discard it. This is a great deal for 1 Fighting Energy to use this attack since you can both deal 130 damage and accelerate 1 extra Energy to Coalossal VMAX.
The second attack, GMAX Boulder is basically pure power [240 damage]. You need to attach 3 Fighting and 1 Colorless Energy to use this attack. With the help from Eruption Shot, you can use this attack at your third turn.
It is quite disappointed that Coalosaal V does not process any good attack at all. Both of its attack require high Energy attached and the effect are not that great. So, it is much better to focus on evolving it into Coalossal VMAX and start using Eruption Shot.
Putting Energy on top of the Deck
Orangurur Ability, Primate Wisdom will be used to put Energy Card on top of your deck. This Ability work by replace a card from your hand with the top card of your deck. So, you need to have an Energy in your hand to get extra damage from Eruption Shot. If you don't have you can use Sonia to find 2 Basic Fighting Energy from your deck.
On top of that, Sonia can also be used to find 2 Basic Pokemon from your deck. Since, the Pokemon were put into your hand instead on the bench, you can also find Pokemon like Crobat V or Dedenne GX to draw extra cards.
Make it tougher
With Buff Padding, your Coalossal V MAX HP will be incrased to 380 and it becomes very tanky. Additionally, Stone Energy can be attached to Coalossal VMAX to reduce 20 damage from opponent's Pokemon attack. If you managed to attach 2 Stone Energy, your Coalossal VMAX will take 40 less damage. If your opponent has Grass Type Deck, you can attach Weakness Gurad Energy to Coalossal VMAX to prevent your opponent's from dealing damage.
You can also accelerate both Stone Energy and Weakness Guard Energy using Eruption Shot and the effect work as long as it is an Energy Card which refers to both Baisc Energy and Special Energy.
As the game continues, it is unavoidable that your Coalossal VMAX will have numbers of damage counters. Then, you can use Mallow & Lana to heal 120 damage from your Active Coalossal VMAX and switch it with your Benched Coalossal VMAX by discarding 2 cards from your hand, Doing so, you opponent will need longer turn to knock your Coalossal VMAX.
